My Secret Valentine surprised me with some of my favorite things: flowers and chocolate. I do not understand how people do not enjoy valentines day. It should be a time to celebrate ones friends, family and loved ones not a time to mope about being single. Go grab a chocolate bar and give it to a dear friend!

I love birthdays, not specifically my birthday, just in general, all birthdays. It is a day to celebrate the life and memories of a certain person. I prefer to go all out for my friends and families birthdays whether they return the enthusiasm or not.

This year my birthday was magical. I woke up to birds singing outside my window. I was surprised by my secret birthday fairy with a handmade sketchbook. I went to town for coffee and pastries with a gentleman. Then after jamming out in printmaking doin what i do,I was surprised by a magical nutella filled cupcake and bottle of birthday wine. Seriously? could the day get any better, and it was only 11 am! After classes I went and worked in my other studios, completely at peace with myself. Even though birthdays are all about celebrating and excitement I prefer to have a little bit of quiet and sanctuary with my clay to go over what has already happened and as Mary says “store them in my heart”. When I decided to show back up to my room because my birthday fairy was searching for me, I had another surprise! A beautiful print of the night sky. Now I can stargaze anytime of the day. It was perfect.

My birthday really could not have been any better. Thank  you so much friends.

I received the best card in the world from the best grandparents in the world. Now I sit and read the note again while I eat my very simple lunch.
